Prolific singer-songwriter Paul Simon has announced dates for the final tour of his career. The 76-year-old has confirmed nineteen dates including three shows in the UK this summer.
“Homeward Bound – The Farewell Tour”
It’s quite astonishing to think that Paul Simon has been touring for the best part of fifty years. Now in 2018, that tour bus will be coming to a halt following his newly announced “Homeward Bound – The Farewell Tour”.
Posting the news on social media, Simon stated that he felt “the travel and time away from my wife and family takes a toll that detracts from the joy of playing”. The death of his friend and lead guitarist, Vincent Nguini, was also a factor.
The musician’s final tour will kick off in Vancouver, Canada in May before coming over to Europe in the Summer. Included are shows in Manchester, Glasgow and a huge outdoor headline gig as part of Hyde Park’s British Summer Time Festival where James Taylor and Bonnie Raitt will appear as special guests.
Tickets go on sale at the end of this week.
