Selena Gomez: My Mind And Me to open 36th edition of AFI fest in Los Angeles
From Disney to a full documentary, Selena Gomez is now someone you can’t not see in the music and cinema industry. The young producer just got a documentary about herself and Alex tells you all about it!

Selena Gomez and her documentary My Mind And Me to premiere on November 2
Selena Gomez, who is an actress, singer, producer and beauty ambassador announced she had a film coming in partnership with Apple TV+. She took to social media to reveal that the Apple Original film, Selena Gomez: My Mind and Me. The documentary will open the 36th edition of the festival in Los Angeles on Nov. 2.
The film didn’t come from thin air. Director Alek Keshishian, who took on the project, is familiar with such iconic figures. He previously directed a documentary about Madonna (Madonna: Truth Or Dare). He also happens to be the brother of Aleen Keshishian, Selena Gomez’s manager.
In a statement about the film, Keshishian said: “I wanted to show something more authentic and Selena did, too. She has a raw vulnerability that captured me. I had no idea then that it would become a six-year labor of love.” He added that My Mind and Me is a “journey from the heights of unimaginable superstardom through the lows of a very personal crisis and back again.” The film will open the 36th edition of the festival in Los Angeles on Nov. 2.

Once known for her teen roles in Disney series or for being Justin Bieber’s girlfriend, Selena Gomez now has a name of her own. Still singing, she recently released ‘Calm Down’ with artist Rema. She also created the cosmetic brad Rare Beauty, that focuses on empowering women.
She’s got her own show on HBO Max, Selena & Chef, in which she learns how to cook with real chefs, often playing fool. Additionally, she both acts and serves as executive producer in the Hulu series Only Murders In The Building, whose second season aired this summer. You can watch the trailer below.
