Jungkook unleashes ‘Dreamers’ and its music video
The official accompanying visual for ‘Dreamers’ arrived via the official FIFA YouTube channel on November 22! The video features Jungkook touring the country, taking in its culture and sights. Performing alongside him, is Qatari artist Fahad Al-Kubaisi. As the FIFA blocked content so as it is not displayed on other application, you can’t directly watch the video. Yet, you can reach it here.
The ‘Dreamers’ video arrives days after Jungkook performed the song live for the first time at the opening ceremony of the World Cup last weekend (November 20) with Fahad Al-Kubaisi. This video hasn’t been blocked, which allows you to watch it here below.
Performing at the World Cup becomes political: who attends, who doesn’t?
We were telling you a few days ago that Dua Lipa has made a strong point in assuring she had never even considered performing at this year’s World Cup. “I look forward to visiting Qatar when it has fulfilled all the human rights pledges it made when it won the right to host the World Cup,” stated the artist. She isn’t the only one making this kind of statement. She received support from Rod Stewart, who opened up about a deal with Qatar he turned down last year for the same reasons.
Within a few weeks, saying yes or no to perform at the World Cup took a very political turn. Shakira, who had confirmed her performance, quietly cancelled it at the last minute. She argued that she had already performed several times at the event. Yet, one can’t help but wondering if the stakes weren’t just too high in terms of public image.
Jungkook and his team chose to ignore the political issues and let him perform at the opening ceremony. The lineup includes Robbie Williams, Clean Bandit, Nicki Minaj, Sean Paul and Black Eyed Peas among others.
