Judas Priest announce new album “Firepower” and drop first track

Legendary heavy metal band Judas Priest just released the first extract from their eighteenth studio album. Discover their new furious single “Lightning Strike”.

“Firepower” out on 9th March

It has already been four years since their last “Redeemer of Souls” was released. But this year, the heavy metal veterans have big plans with their upcoming eighteenth record in the pipeline. After years of delay, “Firepower” is set to be released on 9th March and it’s one of the most anticipated albums of 2018.

According to frontman Rob Halford, this new album will combine some of their classic melodies with a more modern approach of metal brought by their new producer Andy Sneap.

Tom Allom has got this classic metal thing. And Andy is a bit more of a ‘modern metal producer’ but his thinking is a little bit different to Tom’s. And I think to get this balance between that classic old school metal to what Andy’s world is was just a remarkable coalescence.

Following their announcement, Judas Priest dropped the track “Lighting Strike” along with a fierce music video. This extract foreshadows an explosive comeback for the band, who were also nominated for the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame along with other legendary bands. Later this year, they will embark on a massive North American tour to support their latest material. Their UK concert dates should be announced very soon. In the meantime, discover their brand new Lighting Strike” just below.
